What is a "live escape game"?

What are your opening times?
From Tuesday to Friday, our booking hours are from 3pm to 9pm. On Saturday and Sunday, it is 12pm to 10:30pm.
We are closed on Mondays.
How many people are allowed per team?
We recommend 3-6 members per game. 2 player teams are also allowed.
Can I bring my kids? Can I still participate if I'm pregnant?
The game is suitable for young and old. We recommend a child to be over 8 years old to understand the puzzles. Pregnant ladies can still participate in the game - our rooms are all upstairs but once you get up the one flight of stairs then there is no physical activity involved. Unfortunately there are no downstairs rooms.
How do I add somebody on to an existing game?
If you have already made a booking and want to add another person, it is £11 per person. Please pay by cash when you come in on the day.
Can we arrange a teambuilding event on a weekday before 3pm?
We currently allow the large group option to be done before 3pm. Please email info@keyhunter.co.uk and see how we can arrange this for you.
How do I book my escape game?
You can book online by clicking on the "Book Now" link at the top of the page, and following the on-screen instructions to choose the option you would like. If you have an activity superstore voucher, just use the "redeem" option in the booking page.
How long will the experience last?
The game is up to 60 minutes. You will be given a time limit of 60 minutes to escape from the room, after which you will lose the game if you fail.
Why is my booking one and a half hours when the game lasts for an hour?
Even though the actual game lasts for up to one hour, the time slot is actually one and a half hours. This allows time for any latecomers, plus for you to settle in, go through a quick briefing, and if necessary a quick trip to the loo and hang your jacket up. At the end of the session, we ask you to do a team photo with us too. Photos are not allowed in the games rooms, but you can take as many as you like in the reception area.
My session is booked for 6pm. Should I come in a bit earlier?
If your booking is at 6pm, there is no need to come in a bit earlier, as the half hour has accomodated for this and we do not expect our participants to go in exactly at 6pm. We are near the Arcadian if you have time for a quick drink before coming in.
For any latecomers, we will wait for half an hour, but anything more will result in your game being shortened if there is a session booked after yours. At the end of your session, you are welcome to take a group photo, as photos are not allowed inside the game rooms.
Do you have any availability for next Thursday 6pm? Or Saturday 3pm?
Please use our booking system in the "Book Now" section where you can see all the available time slots. You do not have to make a booking to see what time slots are available. However, slots are given on a first come first served basis, and unfortunately we cannot do provisional bookings.

Do you do gift vouchers?
Yes, we can do gift vouchers for any group size and the voucher is also personalised to the recipient. Please email us on info@keyhunter.co.uk and we will arrange it with you.

Where is your venue?
You can find us by visiting our "Find Us" page where a handy map is provided for you. We only have 1 venue and that is located on 149 Sherlock Street, which is near the heart of Birmingham City Centre and 10 minutes walk from Birmingham New Street Station.
Pay and display parking is available at Lower Essex Street, just round the corner from the front entrance.
I'm not from Birmingham. Is there nearby accommodation?
We are based near the Arcadian Centre in Chinatown where there are plenty of shops, hotels and restaurants.
